Sarah was the daughter of Benjamin Henry Willis of Bandon, Cork County, Ireland (5/23/1825) and Ann Jane Donnelly of Adolphistown, Ontario, Canada (11/5/1825). She was born in Coldwater Lake, Ontario Benjamin emigrated to Ontario Province before 1844 and married Ann 04/22/1944 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Benjamin died 5/10/1890 in Thayer, York County, Nebraska and Ann died 8/25/1913 in Lushton, York County, Nebraska. She had 17 brothers and sisters of which 3 died as infants.
Sara and John married November 18th, 1872 in Waco, York County, Nebraska. Their children were, William, Percy, Walter, George, Harold, Ben, Charles, Edith and Jessie. Jessie became a nurse and married railroad man Samuel Hawkins. Jessie was real close to her Mom and used her pass on the railroad to go visit her quite often in Rodeo. Her daughter Bernice Hawkins remembers those trips very fondly.
